Types of DG
There exists a substantial variety of technologies that are often considered to be classified as Distributed Generation (DG); for this DG building integration study we have selected the following three types:
Fuel Cells and Micro Turbines are particularly well suited for integration into the built environment because they can serve small capacities, have high overall efficiency in cogeneration applications, and present low emission factors. Photovoltaic panels are a renewable energy with no emissions and can be easily mounted on the roofs of most buildings.
