Gas Turbine Combustion Short Course 2010

March 15-19, 2010

Irvine, California

The objective of the course is to provide detailed instruction in the emissions, design, performance, theory, and regulations associated with gas turbine combustion systems. The syllabus includes a number of lectures on the fundamentals of combustion, but the main areas of instruction are in combustor emissions and design, and in the solution of practical problems that arise in the course of advanced combustor development. Special attention is paid to methods of minimizing pollutant emissions, regulatory forces, and the experimental and computational methods used to delineate combustor behavior. Evening workshops are available, at the discretion of the student, in computational analyses of combustor flows.
