HIMaC2 provides research and educational programs through four integrative units and are comprised of state-of-the-art laboratories outfitted with selected equipment that enable a synergistic approach in tackling the most challenging research topics.

HIMaC2 emerged from a long-standing relationship between the Horiba Group and UC Irvine which culminated in a monetary commitment by the Horiba Group dedicated to founding a new institute within the UCI Advanced Power and Energy Program.
